Brief history and general aspects
Morocco is a country located in north-eastern most part of Africa. Moroccan proximity to Europe is just of 14km in the Gibraltar strait, and it borders Algeria, Mauritania and the north-African Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.
Morocco is a vast and diversified country with several types of landscapes, being mostly common separated in 4 distinct parts: the North and Rif Mountains, the Atlantic Coast, the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the Moroccan Western Sahara.
Morocco has around 30 million habitants from 5 different groups: Imazighen, Arabs, Bedouins, Saharawis and a small Jewish community.
Throughout times, Morocco has taken influences from different people and invasions. From out Jewish, Romans, Arabs, Portuguese, Spanish and French, the original Moroccan people, the Imazighen, still remain the major fraction with 70% of the population
